Angel of Perseverance
marker and pastel
I do a lot of angels, and
actually every single one is about
perseverance when you think of it.
Turtles, angels, owls
are my jam.
Keep. Going.

The world seems real real cranky right now.
If you've been meaning to say something kind
to someone, to tell them how much they
mean to you...I would suggest doing it today.
Keep going lovelies.

These pieces are going to the Art Bar
in Milwaukee for their small works show.
Thank you Mr. Jesus for art sanity.

Beautiful You Always, All Ways
Mixed media lino print
I had seen a collage of someone else's entitled
"Eve was framed" and the thought has intrigued
me ever since.  This piece makes me think of
that title - because the snake skin paper reminds
me of the story of Adam and Eve.  How often
we hold ourselves guilty for things from the beginning
of our time, all the while forgetting how beautiful
and brave we are.  I am reminding you.
Transform how you see your own story.
I have several versions of this mixed media print -
framed and unframed.  Contact me if you'd
like to meet them.

A Nessa Bow.
And the little apples she loved.
Just her size.
Magnificent green moon
and a feather.
For owls.
And for you forgiving you.

We lost a Friend
to addiction this year.
I think about him.
How he struggled.  How alone.
I pulled two SoulCollage® cards
while thinking of him.
Not to say everything that came to me,
but there was a luna moth.
And so many dragon flies.
For short lives filled with mighty love.
Transformation.
And wings to heaven.
Fly free Mitch.
But remember your
kids need your Angel now.
Many young people
need your Angel.
NOW.

Yes!
One of my fav's so far.
Turtle Owl Guardian.
I like how the feet
are in motion.
Trust and go.
With precision and perseverance.
Your home and Friend
always with you.

I call them linollages.
Is that a thing?
It is now.
This is from a labyrinth drawing
I did in a retreat a long time ago.
The wallpaper is from my
Friend's family farm house.
What a good life.
Love and family and art.
Serious.

Nessa Bean
Been cutting some linoleum lately.  I love it.
Smells like college, possibility, creativity, therapy.
You know.  Stuff like that.
Also Nessa is our Chief Heart Healer.
CHH for short.

The owl is my heaven messenger bird
from my Friend Ed.
And my mom collected them
back in the day.
What could be better?

Snake Charmer.
She did not make it into the show
but it's all good.
She'll be here with me.
Turtle patience.
Snake charmer perseverance.

Heaven messengers.
You ever think about the history
of you?
Where you come from.
Why.
Everyone is here from
my original 3.
I asked people what they
thought about it at my show.
It's funny what the artist
sees and what
everyone else sees.
I love art so much.
That's all.
Blessed be.

Do you know who she is?  She's the Angel of Frog Energy.  For lifting out of our mud.  We all have mud.  And if you say you don't, how does the saying go?  Then it means you have even more.  Something like that.  I made a SoulCollage® card recently that I have on my kitchen table at home.  At first I thought it was...I am the one who is a helper and being helped.  Like it was me leading someone and being led by someone.  You know what?  Tonight I see that the card is me helping me.  I am the one holding my own hand and going.  I am the one who sees miracles.  The heart in the stone or tree or microscopic clover.  Heart clouds.  I am the one showing me the miracles.  Uncle Daryl Angel finch feather in plain sight.  We're making our way.

And what I was going to tell you is that the Angel of Frog Energy was accepted into a show at Two Fish in Elkhart Lake.  So she will travel this weekend!  And I have another Angel at the Dekoven in Racine.  See how they're branching out?  We are indeed making our way.  Blessed be.

Ah!  A year has passed since I posted last.  Actually more than a year. But who's counting?  I have a show coming up at the Lemon Street in Kenosha in April.  Collage.  Assemblage.  I sort of have 3 different paths of work and I'm trying to figure how best to blend them.  But I've been thinking a lot about how our work is autobiographical.  Mostly.  Really.  If it's genuine it is.  Right?  Discuss.  So some assemblages.  That are whimsical.  But me.  And figure studies.  That are abstract.  But me.  And maybe my 3 transpersonal SoulCollage® cards.  Because "anything you want."  Because it matters and it heals.  Looking out.  Looking in.  Me.  I love how collage is the great do over.  The blessed rearranging.  How SoulCollage® lets us shine a light on it and give it a voice so we don't have to fight that thing in our guts so hard any more.  So the show will be for the fragiles.  For our own stories. For the Angels everywhere.  For the Angel that IS you.  And me.

Angel of 2017
Well.
How will we face our fears down in 2017?
What will we carry in with us?
It's a tiny bit Uncle Joe.
We are all bits of our woven history and yet
so much more.
I am convinced that we grow
what we focus on and so
we can choose to BE
Light Bearers.
And there will be days you think
that no one notices
and days you think it does not matter.
But it does matter my lovelies.
It forever and ever amen does.
Blessed be.
Blessed BE.

Part of the Angel of Saving Us From Ourselves.
It's sort of like this little missile part.
A comet headed in.
My artist Friend Glen Martin Taylor has a piece
called the fear was bigger than the fall.
Probably true more often than not.
It's the remembering that that's the tricky part.
She is mixed media.  Marker.  Pastel.
Chang beer bottle elephant and
fair trade worry doll....

This is more part of a scene really.
Another comet.  Go figure.
Fire in the sky.
Exotic plants.
Good company yet alone
in the crowd.
Sometimes family knows the buttons best.
But we know the lifting up
the best too.
I made an angel for 2017 today.
If I can capture her better in a photo later
I will post her.
Choose to be a light bearer, always.
Even when you think it does not matter.
Even when you think no one notices.
It always and forever and ever amen does matter.
Blessed.  Be.

I'll be honest with you.
I'm not that fond of the Sunday/Monday connection.
This is who came last night.
Angel of Energy.  On. My. Side.
Welcome!
18" x 24"
Marker and Pastel.

One of 3 featured artists in April at the Lemon Street Gallery
in Kenosha!  Stop in.  Up March 30-April 24.  Wed-Sun.
I have two angels in the show at ArtWorks right now too.
Did I ever tell you art is some of my favorite stuff?
It's good to do things that lessen that giant wrinkle between/above your eyes.
Art.  Yoga.  SoulCollage®.  Like that and like that.
I am grateful.
